Robot Room

We got most of the Robot Room set up the way we want it. All that's left is for us to get the sleeper couch from IKEA sometime after Christmas, with the hopes that Santa will give us Home Depot (they own our souls) and IKEA giftcards.
The setup is amazing. I am now realizing that I have never had a dedicated craft space before. I can sew their and craft there and everything in that space is for MEEEEE! It looks fantastic. I am very proud.

Here's the thing of it

Sometimes I am struck with my luck.
I have a wonderful husband. No, really he is sweet, supportive, understanding, empathetic, a good listener, overflowing with love for me, handy . . . I could go on forever. These things are always true, but sometimes I just have to take a moment to take him in. He is the BEST person I have ever met, and he wants to be with me forever. Nothing else matters. It's just me and him. I am soooooo lucky.

Shiny!

New Fridge came this morning. Best Buy said it wouldn't come until Tuesday at the earliest. The deliverymen showed up at our door (nice guys) ready to move our old fridge out. Yikes! Urn was in the shower, and I was running around like a crazy chicken trying to move the furniture, and upack the freezer and fridge so they could take it. I got a little help from the deliverymen, who held the basket as I dumped out the freezer items into it.
Then I had to clean the floor after they moved the old one out. I was super late by this point. I unwrapping the new fridge when a surprised Urn came out of the bathroom. (Come to think of it, glad he was "ready to accept company") We loaded up the new fridge and skuttled off to work. I haven't gotten a chance to play with it yet. We'll see.

New oven came Saturday. It is gorgeous. We've already cooked on it, of course. :) Convection oven, no knobs just buttons. No coils, it's a ceramic cooktop. It is wonderful! Can't push it all the way back because the previous owners didn't recess the outlet. We'll get that fixed soon.

Origin of the species

Also, Urn put in the new the new medicine cabinet. I'll show you the new look when we finish all the way. :)

Let the wild rumpus...We went to the preview, a little while ago, of Where the Wild Things Are.
It was on the IMAX screen at the Pacific Science center. We had drinks and appetizers before, and then watched the movie. If you have a sibling very close to your age, like I do, you may identify with the angsty feelings in the movie. Loving and hating and wanting the attention of your sibling.
They really captured the spirit of the thing, even if some of the quotes weren't exact. :)

Swamped!

We are swamped. Busy. Up to our eyeballs in party-planning and cleaning and work and . . . gosh!

Mural

Here are some of the pictures of before and afters from the workday at our school. The playground was pretty bleak before.
Seattle Works, UBS, some Brighton students/staff and some of my best friends cleaned up and beautified our school. The mural is the one I designed.
